Gentle giant; loves Freia. Brother to Fafner. Takes the Ring and treasure and defends them against all, including Wotan. These brothers too suffer from the curse of the Ring; it is Fasolt who loses his life, to his own brother, in a fierce battle over the Nibelung hoard.
