September Newsletter - 3 weeks to Mahler!

Hello everyone, and hope you’re having an enjoyable September thus far.

Excitement is building for our Mahler 2 - “The Regents Opera Resurrection” - concert. Not only will we make a simply enormous amount of glorious noise, but we will also use the occasion to announce Regents Opera’s plans for the coming two seasons. It’s been tremendously exciting putting things together since the Ring. At time of writing there are really not that many tickets left, so I would strongly recommend buying them soon!

Mahler basically put everything into this symphony; this is his take on life, love, death and, of course (as per the title), resurrection. With huge thanks to Alison, we have put together a really very large orchestra, who are all looking forward to it almost as much as I am, plus we have a choir of 100 singers taken from various places across London and beyond. We also have two of Regents Opera’s stalwart singers, Catharine Woodward and Mae Heydorn, who will be our vocal soloists.

The concert will begin with Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll. His “love letter” to his wife, which uses many of the themes from Siegfried, particularly the famous “Ewig war ich” love theme.

September Friend Drive

One of the ways that you, our supporters can most help us keep going with our work, is by becoming a Friend or a Patron. For £75 or £150 per year, you get priority booking, and access to various perks, including a more personal monthly(ish) email from me inviting you to things. I cannot begin to tell you how helpful it would be if this email could make us another 10 Friends or Patrons…! It’s well worth the few quid!
