September Newsletter - 3 weeks to Mahler!
Hello everyone - I hope you're having an enjoyable September so far.
Excitement is building for our Mahler 2 concert - the Regents Resurrection.
As well as making some great, and very loud, music, we'll be using the occasion to announce Regents Opera’s plans for the coming two seasons. It's been incredibly exciting starting to turn our post-Ring plans into reality, and at the time of writing this, there aren't many tickets left at all so get them while you can!

Mahler poured his heart and soul into this symphony - creating an epic musing on life, love, death and, of course (as per the title), resurrection. We've put together a massive orchestra and have a choir of over a hundred singers from across London and the South East. I hope they're as excited as I am!
Two of Regents Opera's finest singers , Catharine Woodward and Mae Heydorn, will be our soloists.
The concert begins with a nod to The Ring, Wagner's beautiful Siegfried Idyll - written as a birthday gift for his wife, Cosima and including the famous “Ewig war ich” love theme.
September Friend Drive
One of the ways that you, our supporters can most help us keep going with our work, is by becoming a Friend or a Patron. For £75 or £150 per year, you get priority booking - a week sooner at the £150 level than the £75 level, and access to various perks, including a more personal monthly(ish) email from me. You get invitations to dress rehearsals and other friends and patrons’ events, including pre-show talks and opportunities to meet the cast (at the £150 level….) I cannot begin to tell you how helpful it would be if this email could make us another 10 Friends or Patrons…! It’s well worth the few quid!
Other things going on - Ben and Cat give a recital at Sudeley Castle
On Sunday 21st September at Sudeley Castle in the Cotswolds, Ben and Catharine Woodward will be giving a recital of works by Amy Beach, Fauré, Duparc, Haydn and the Wesendonck Lieder of Wagner. It you happen to be in the Cotswolds this weekend, we'd love to see you! Entry is free.
Meanwhile, as ever, thank you to our kind sponsors, Big Yellow Storage in Camberley - thank you for looking after our stuff!
Have a good September - hope to see you at the Mahler concert!
