Well, happy autumn everyone! Tickets are now on sale!!

We’re really excited to be offering our new, exciting, immersive production of Strauss’s Salome.

I want tickets now!

Along with the Salome, during our York Hall residency, we will also be giving the London premiere of Ben Woodward’s new orchestration of Schubert’s Winterreise, with tenor Jon Morrell, who was in many respects partially responsible for the birth of Fulham Opera, and indeed Ben’s interest in Wagner.

If you buy a ticket to both casts of Salome, then you get a significant discount on a ticket for Winterreise…

Other things going on!

Rusalka Orchestral Study Day - 30th November

Before we get into the wilds of Strauss, we have a watery play through Dvorak’s remarkable Rusalka. On Sunday 30th November in St Hilda’s Church in Crofton Park, we’ll explore this piece, culminating in a run-through at 6pm, which is open for the public.

The cast is led by Christine Buras as the title role, with Robin Whitehouse as the Prince and Alistair Sutherland as the Waterman and Katerina Mina as the Foreign Princess.

And from our Friends at New Palace Opera this weekend:

Stravinsky: Oedipus Rex with Mae Heydorn and James Schouten, conducted by Jonathan Finney

Two of the stars from Regents Operas' acclaimed and sell-out Ring Cycle, James Schouten and Mae Heydorn are soon to take the lead roles in a concert performance of Stravinsky's shattering and compelling Oedipus Rex. This austere re-imagining of the ancient myth reflects the remorseless path to which Oedipus and his wife Jocasta are chained.

On November 16th at St. John's Church Waterloo, New Palace Opera, James and Mae will be presenting this opera together with music by Mahler and Templeton Strong; the latter is a late romantic composer, with his music sounding like an amalgam of Richard Strauss and Bruch.

Tickets for this fascinating programme can be brought via New Palace Opera's website: New Palace Opera
