Strauss, Walton and Wagner, the concert without singers!

On Sunday 29th September, Regents Opera will give a major concert of extraordinary music in order to raise funds for the Ring Cycle.

We're bringing together our extended family - the Regents Opera ensemble, our workshops orchestra and many wonderful friends - to perform Strauss's monumental tone poem, An Alpine Symphony.

Wagner (obviously), but Walton and Strauss!

We begin the concert with the Prelude to Act 3 of Lohengrin by Wagner. This is a marvellous 4 minute romp for orchestra, and will set the tone for a splendid evening’s music.

Our principal cello Alison Holford will then be the soloist in Walton's rhapsodic Cello Concerto.

We don't do things by halves at Regents Opera and orchestral music doesn't get much bigger than Eine Alpensinfonie.

We’re also doing a crowd funder to help offset the costs of the concert, so if you can help in that way, additional to buying tickets and coming and seeing it, then that would be splendid!
