Spring Newsletter - MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS!!

Happy Spring everyone!  So…this is a big one…

I write with some surprising news:  We have been informed by Freemasons’ Hall that due to operational changes since we first made our agreement with them in 2021, they are no longer able to host us for our Ring Cycle in November 2024.  You’ll appreciate and empathise that we were temporarily at something of a loss with the agreement ending after Siegfried, so we’ve been quiet for several weeks as we felt certain we could find a good solution, so we can enjoy the full cycles, and indeed the End of the World as planned…(!)

We will be moving the Ring Cycle to the historic York Hall in Bethnal Green, just 6 stops on the Central line from Holborn. This unique venue allows us to keep the up close, in the round staging we have had for our Ring Cycle performances so far, dare we say, with a lower gallery with incredible views and many seats no more than 5 rows back, it’ll be even more intimate!

The change in venue has also necessitated a mild push back in dates.  The dates for the two cycles will be:

Ring Cycle 1

Sun 9th Feb 2025 – Das Rheingold

Tues 11th Feb – Die Walküre

Thurs 13th Feb - Siegfried

Sun 16th Feb - Götterdämmerung

Ring Cycle 2

Sun 23rd Feb – Das Rheingold

Tues 25th Feb – Die Walküre

Thurs 27th Feb - Siegfried

Sun 2nd March - Götterdämmerung

At the moment, we’ve therefore had to take tickets off-sale whilst we fix everybody’s ticket who had already bought them for the Freemasons’ Hall.  Tickets will be going back on sale as soon as we’ve got things totally sorted out with current cycle ticket holders, and then, yes, absolutely you’ll be able to buy single tickets for the individual operas, as well as full cycles, and maybe we’ll even get some of our marvellous merch available online…

I’m thrilled to say that all of the current cast are all on board with the new dates, so you’ll get to see the Regents Ring in all its glory, just a little bit further east a couple of months later than we’d hoped.
