Two weeks to SIEGFRIED!!!
Greetings from the middle of a run of Act 2 of Siegfried in our rehearsal space in Hammersmith!
As most of you will know now through our social media, for personal reasons, after Day 3 of rehearsals, Philip Modinos had to return to Greece, and we’ve been thrilled to have British/American tenor PETER FURLONG replace him as the title role in our Siegfried. Peter has leapt seamlessly into the production and we’re really looking forward to his interpretation of the role.
Last night, director Caroline Staunton and I were in conversation with The Wagner Society, discussing her - and my - approach to Siegfried and indeed the greater Ring, we had a great time and if you were there, we hope it has whetted your appetite for what’s to come.
Go on, buy tickets!
Just to remind you, that there are just THREE performances at the Grand Temple in the Freemasons’ Hall, right in the heart of London’s Covent Garden. They are on:
Sunday 4th February at 3pm
Wednesday 7th February at 5pm
Saturday 10th February at 5pm
I’m hugely looking forward to meeting the orchestra next week, and getting into the Freemasons’ Hall again!
It’s a huge space, and, while yes, tickets are selling pretty quickly, you’re probably not going to be too late to get one, but goodness me, as a businessman, as well as an artist trying to create something for people to see, I’d love it if we had very few free seats! I haven’t had my Christmas gift of three full houses… yet…. Go on, tell all your friends, and bring them all!
And meantime, as ever, our grateful thanks to Big Yellow Storage at Camberley. Thanks for looking after all our stuff!
