May Newsletter - Carmen on Sale!
Greetings everyone from Regents Opera
We hope you’re having a nice summer, now it seems like it might be here!
Yes, we’re touring the Most Popular Opera in the repertoire! Carmen may well be far from our usual fayre of Verdi, Wagner and Strauss, but it is a truly remarkable piece, particularly if you have really tremendous singers.
Kassandra Dimopoulou leads our cast - a fiery Greek mezzo who many of you would have heard in our 2019 Don Carlo. We have just got back from a short trip to Thêatre La Basse Passière near Le Mans in France, where we gave a reduced performance with the four principal cast members, including tenor Howard Hutt - most recently seen with us in Verdi's La Forza Del Destino and soprano Jillian Finnamore who was a recent winner of our Verdi Prize.
For the rest of this tour, we are joined by an amazing group of singers, including soprano Francesca Matta who toured with us last year as Violetta in La Traviata.
We cannot wait for this tour to begin and you can join us at the London shows!
Booking is now open for these performances.
At the Marylebone Theatre (formerly Rudolf Steiner House) on 14 & 15th June.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Cast for the Regents Ring to be announced on 1st June
