Yorkshire baritone Tom Asher is an alumnus of ENO’s Opera Works, a graduate of the University of Durham and the Royal Northern College of Music.

 

 Tom has performed with Opera Holland Park as a Young Artist in Il barbiere di Siviglia and performed supporting roles in the following seasons in Gianni Schicci and Lakmé. Further operatic highlights include Aeneas, Dido and Aeneas (Bury Bach Choir); Il Conte, Le nozze di Figaro (Opera Alegria); Count Robinson, Il matrimonio segreto (Pop-up Opera); Hildebrand/North Wind, The Enchanted Pig (Hampstead Garden Opera); Einstein Fart, For the Love of Thorstein Shiver (Helios Opera); Sacristan, Tosca (Dublin Lyric Opera); Giacomo, Giovanna d’Arco (Hashtag Opera); Forester, The Cunning Little Vixen, Michele, Il Tabarro, and Pish Tush, The Mikado (Co-Opera Co.); Ned Keene, Peter Grimes (Elemental Opera); Lorenzo, I Capuletti e I Montecchi (Opera Undone) and Common Person, It Makes No Difference (Tête-à-Tête Opera Festival).

 

On the concert platform Tom performs regularly as a soloist throughout the UK and internationally. Performances include Dvorak’s The Spectre’s Bride in Newcastle and Zurich with the New Tyneside Orchestra and Ars Cantata; Mendelssohn’s Elijah and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion in Bury St. Edmunds Cathedral with the Prometheus Orchestra and Bury Bach Choir; Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Liverpool Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria in Blackburn Cathedral.

 

 Tom is looking forward to performing in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, as well as concerts of works by Bach, Duruflé, Haydn and Verdi.
