Peter Furlong - tenor

Siegfried - Siegfried and Götterdämmerung, 2024 Ring Cycle

A magisterial tenor…” is how The New York Times’ Anthony Tommasini described Peter Furlong’s voice. An accomplished Heldentenor with dark hues and powerful ring to his voice, Peter has appeared to plaudits on stages around the world including Germany, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, and the USA.

His recent engagements include the title role of Siegfried with Regents Opera of London in 2024; Tristan in Tristan und Isolde with Powerhouse Opera of Toronto; Siegmund in Die Walküre in Toronto; and Adam in Der Vogelhändler and Max in Der Freischütz  in Berlin/Brandenburg.

Other notable engagements include his Czech and Hungarian debuts in the role of Tony in The Servant; his creation of the role of Salamone Mortara in the world premiere of Il caso Mortara by Francesco Cilluffo.

Mr. Furlong is in demand as a concert soloist with appearances in Italy, as soloist for Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in 2024, and in the USA as Siegmund in scenes from Die Walküre for an All-Wagner Concert for the Boston Wagner Society and as the tenor soloist in Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde for the Gustav Mahler Society of New York in 2018.

Peter is the founder and president of the acclaimed Berlin Wagner Group which offers singers the opportunity to study, rehearse and perform a Wagner role with a full cast and staging as well as offering its highly acclaimed “Snackable Wagner” concert series.

You can find Peter on the critically acclaimed recording of Das Lied von der Erde and as Don Gomez in Weber's Die Drei Pintos (completed by Mahler) from Wexford Festival Opera.
