Regents Opera
Salome, by Richard Strauss
Following the resounding success of its Ring Cycle in 2025, the UK’s leading fringe opera company, Regents Opera, returns to York Hall in 2026 with a bold new staging of Richard Strauss’ explosive masterpiece Salome, conducted by Ben Woodward and directed by Mark Ravenhill.
With two sensational casts led by Eleanor Dennis and Kirsty Taylor-Stokes, and performed in the historic East End home of British boxing, Salome will be one of the most unusual operatic experiences of the year.
Winterreise, by Franz Schubert
As part of our residency at York Hall, Regents Opera present the London Premiere of Schubert's song cycle, as reorchestrated by our own Ben Woodward. American tenor Jon Morrell has commissioned the orchestration, and will perform the cycle.
Ben has endeavoured to consider how Schubert might have orchestrated it himself, through careful study of his symphonic works, and we think the result will be both charming and dramatic.
