Regents Opera May Newsletter
Greetings everyone from a very sunny Sussex, where I’m enjoying some down time after a busy first week of Rigoletto rehearsals.
We’re about to start the second week of rehearsals for the initial part of our summer tour. We start at the beautiful Walcot Hall in Shropshire, several private locations in the UK, several chateaux in France, and also, most importantly, to the Bloomsbury Theatre in London, where we will play for one night only on Friday 17th July. You might have seen us being mentioned in both The Times and the Guardian.
If you do fancy a trip to the Welsh border on 5th or 6th June, you can buy tickets here.
What else is coming up?
Sunday 5th July: Orchestral Repertoire weekend on Janacek’s From the House of the Dead. St Hilda’s Crofton Park, 6pm run through. Free entry, suggested £10 donation.
If you are a string player and would enjoy playing, please email Alison.
Sunday 4th October: 3rd annual Symphonic Concert: Britten’s War Requiem. More details to follow, but do mark your calendars! If you would be interested in singing in the chorus, please email me!
Sunday 1st November: Elektra, in concert, in partnership with New Palace Opera at Blackheath Halls, starring Catharine Woodward in the title role, with Ella de Jongh as Chrysothemis, Karin Lovelius as Klytemnestra, and Ashley Mercer as Orestes. Tickets available now!
All best wishes for an enjoyable start to the summer, and I hope to see many of you at Rigoletto very soon!
Meanwhile, many thanks to the Big Yellow Storage company in Fulham for looking after our stuff!
