During 2018 we are offering The Barber of Seville. Please look under ARTISTS tab for casting. Our new musical director for 2018 is David Eaton. We wish to thank Ben Woodward for all his hard work the last few years and wish him well in Flensburg.

In 2017 we performed Rigoletto. The London performance is reviewed here

Our production of La Bohème in 2016 had some great critical acclaim.

“La Boheme was beautiful. The whole event certainly gave Glyndebourne some serious competition. The acting, music and singing were superb. I just loved it and so did all my guests – four of whom are serious musicians."

"Last night at Holland Park was excellent - but not as much fun as your La Bohème. Cast of 100 and orchestra of 30 but your cast of 6 + 2 and a piano was wonderful."

In 2015  our production of The Marriage of Figaro received this review and after our Figaro opening night at Kirklinton Hall we received this generous and insightful note below about the performance.

"I am can say in all honesty that your performance was a life-changing moment for me and for that, you all have everlasting gratitude. Thank you."

The Friends of Regents Opera has been grateful for the support of our orchestra by Mr Rajai Khouri, Nick Starr CBE, Jeremy Sams, Neil McIntosh CBE, Baroness Massey of Darwen, Baroness McIntosh of Hudnall, Deborah Moggach,  Fiona Shaw CBE, Dr Rosemary Sharpin, and Emilie Renard. Please contact us if you would like to give support in 2016.

Regents Opera was founded by Nicholas Heath in 2012 and builds on the success of its sister company, Opera A La Carte, which Nicholas founded in 1993. Regents Opera will concentrate on larger-scale productions in a wide variety of venues, whilst Opera A La Carte continues to focus primarily on small, intimate productions and corporate entertainment.

Regents Opera works without direct public subsidy, and Nicholas is determined to provide affordable opera of outstanding quality. He refuses to modernise productions for the sake of it, preferring to be faithful to the music and the text.

Performances are not confined to the proscenium arch, and can fit into any space.

Younger audiences will be introduced to high-quality performance thanks to subsidised ticketing supported by The Friends of Regents Opera. The Company consists of a creative mix of early-career singers and established artists moving into more mature repertoire.

The renowned British bass Sir John Tomlinson is the Patron of Regents Opera; he has said

"In particular, the Company will offer a great opportunity for the development of talented young singers – vital for the future of opera."
